This quick & easy recipe is a great option if you’re looking for a delicious and healthy side dish! I recently bought a few different popcorn seasonings and thought to try adding the butter flavor to vegetables. Turns out to taste  really good!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Frozen or fresh green beans
  • Mrs. Dash – Original Blend
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Kernel Seasons – Butter Seasoning
  • Canola Oil Cooking Spray

Step 1.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Then cover a cookie sheet with tin foil [helps make cleanup a bit easier]. Spray a coating of cooking oil on the pan. You could drizzle real oil on the pan but in an effort to keep calories low, I opted for Canola Oil cooking spray.

Step 2.
Add green beans to the cookie sheet. I didn’t worry about making sure there was 1 even layer – I just put the amount I wanted to cook on the sheet and then spread out what I could. Then coat all the green beans with cooking spray to help the seasonings attach to the green beans and help the green beans roast when in the oven.

Step 3.
Add seasonings [salt, pepper, butter seasoning, garlic powder, Mrs. Dash] to green beans. Amount depends on your personal preference. I personally did a pinch of salt and a generous amount of pepper, butter seasoning, garlic powder and Mrs. Dash.

Step 4.

Put cookie sheet in oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, take a spatula and flip green beans over. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes or until green beans are roasted and look shriveled and a bit brown. Every oven is going to be different so keep an eye on how fast your’s cooks –  you may need to add/subtract cooking time. My green beans were soft but did have a bit of burntness to them. So good!

I was surprised at how yummy the “popcorn seasoning” made my green beans! Love finding new ways to change up what could be a boring side! The container says that this seasoning would be good on potatoes, pasta, eggs, vegetables and rice! I plan on trying it out and seeing how it tastes on other foods 🙂

Here’s the back of the seasoning container for anyone who is interested in seeing the ingredients &/or nutrition facts. The front also states that there is nothing artificial.

Step 5.
Enjoy! I paired mine with grilled chicken 🙂
